Mr P. Govindaswamy asked the Minister for Social Affairs whether the Government proposes community centre in the Division; where will it be sited, and when will it be ready.

Inche Othman Bin Wok: Mr Speaker. Sir, the question of building a community centre in the Anson Electoral Division has, in fact, been under consideration by the Government since 1962. Five possible sites for the (Centre have been investigated but none have been found suitable. A sixth possible site in Wallich Street was investigated hut it was subsequently found that it had been reserved for the construction of a school. A seventh site at the junction of Anson Road and Keppel Road is now being investigated.
