NANYANG UNIVERSITY CO-OPERATIVE STORE (Reasons for dissolution)

"Mr Chia Thye Poh To ask the Minister for Law and National Development the reason for dissolving the Nanyang University Co-operative Store."

Pursuant to Standing Order No. 20 (2), the Minister for Law and National Development supplied the following answer:-

  1. "The Nanyang University Co-operative Store was dissolved by Order made under section 38 (1) of the Co-operative Societies Ordinance as a result of investigations into the running and management of this Co-operative Store by the Registrar of Co-operative Societies. The investigations were instituted following complaints received by the Registrar of Co-operative Societies to the effect that this Store was run and managed in contravention of the by-laws."
