Mr Ng Kah Ting asked the Minister for Finance whether and when a census of the population of Singapore will be conducted; and whether it will be similar to the 1957 census.

Dr Goh Keng Swee: A census of the population will be carried out in 1970. I hope that it will be an improvement on the 1957 census.
