Dr Lau Teik Soon asked the Minister for Home Affairs and Education if a police post can be located at Serangoon Garden Estate to facilitate contact between the police and the residents.
Mr Chua Sian Chin: Mr Speaker, Sir, crime within the Serangoon Garden Estate has been relatively low. The Police therefore has no plans to establish a Police post in the area. Radio Cars and Team Policing Patrol Cars patrol the area daily. All Radio and Team Policing Patrol Cars are equipped with radio communication sets which are linked to Police Radio Division and the Paya Lebar Police Station respectively. In addition, Team Policing Patrol Officers are also equipped with walkie-talkie sets to enable them to communicate with their Divisional Headquarters Station.
