[Mr Speaker in the Chair]
Mr Ang Nam Piau asked the Prirne Minister whether he is aware that the two small and outdated rural type community centres in Thomson Constituency are no longer adequate for their new role and if he will consider constructing a new community centre for the people of Thomson Constituency.
The Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs (Mr Lee Khoon Choy) (for the Prime Minister): Mr Speaker, Sir, the People's Association is aware that the two rural type community centres in Thomson are inadequate to serve the people in the Constituency. The hon. Member for Thomson may be happy to learn that a new and better equipped community centre has been included in the 5-year Development Plan of the People's Association. The Planning Department, the Land Office and the Housing and Development Board have been requested to locate a suitable site for the proposed centre.
