Mr Teo Chong Tee asked the Minister for National Development and Communications whether his Ministry will consider developing the sea beach at Kampong Permetang in Pulau Tekong Besar as a holiday resort in view of its popularity with campers and picnickers from the main Island.

The Senior Minister of State for National Development (Dr Tan Eng Liang) (for the Minister for National Development and Communications): Mr Speaker, Sir, there is no immediate plan to develop the sea beach at Kampong Permatang in Pulau Tekong Besar into a holiday resort. However, the beach will continue to be available to campers and picnickers.
