Mr Lim Chee Onn: To ask the Minister for National Development and Communications, in view of the heavy traffic along Jalan Bukit Merah, if an overhead bridge for pedestrians will be constructed across the road in front of the Bukit Merah Town Centre.
Mr Yeo Toon Chia: Mr Speaker, Sir, Question No. B.
Dr Tan Eng Liang (for the Minister for National Development and Communications): Mr Speaker, Sir, there is no plan to construct a pedestrian overhead bridge across Jalan Bukit Merah in front of the town centre. Pedestrians could use the crossings provided with traffic signals at the junction of Jalan Bukit Merah/Henderson Road. Pedestrians further away could make use of traffic gaps created by the traffic signals to cross the road.
