Mr Teo Chong Tee asked the Prime Minister whether the Public Utilities Board plans to supply electricity to the residents of Pulau Tekong Besar and Pulau Ubin with the use of generators located on those two islands.

The Minister for the Environment (Mr Lim Kim San) (for the Prime Minister): Mr Speaker, Sir, the answer is no. The PUB has no plans to provide electricity to the islands of Pulau Tekong Besar and Pulau Ubin because it is not economical to use generators to provide electricity to these two islands.
