Dr Toh Chin Chye asked the Acting Minister for Labour (a) what is the amount of members' contributions to the Central Provident Fund in the (i) Ordinary Account, (ii) Special Account and (iii) Medisave Account for 1985; and (b) how much was withdrawn from the Medisave Account for the same year.

Mr Lee Yock Suan: Mr Speaker, Sir, CPF contributions credited to members' Ordinary, Special and Medisave Accounts in 1985 are as follows: Ordinary Account - $4,814 million Special Account - $488 million Medisave Account - $692 million

In 1985, a total of $43 million was withdrawn from the Medisave Account.
