YISHUN NEW TOWN (Bus interchange)

Dr Koh Lip Lin asked the Minister for National Development whether the planning and construction of Yishun New Town bus interchange can be expedited in view of the fast increase in the population of the New Town.

Mr Teh Cheang Wan: Mr Speaker, Sir, the Yishun bus interchange is scheduled for completion in April 1987. The HDB will now expedite its construction and will complete the interchange earlier, if possible. In the meantime, the HDB has provided a temporary bus interchange at the junction of Yishun Central and Yishun Avenue 2 to serve the residents.
