Mr Cheo Chai Chen asked the Acting Minister for National Development whether there are any plans to redevelop Woodlands Industrial Park E and if so, whether alternative sites will be provided for the sitting tenants of the Industrial Park.

Mr Lim Hng Kiang: HDB has no immediate plans to redevelop the existing prototype factories at Woodlands Industrial Park E. As such, the question of providing alternative sites for the sitting tenants of Woodlands Industrial Park E does not arise.

If the Member is referring to the 62 plots of open storage land along Woodlands Avenue 9, these are occupied under monthly TOLs except for 2 plots where the 10-year leases will be expiring on 31st March 1995. These open storage sites were intended for temporary use. Notices to Quit (NTQ) were served to the Licensees of the open storage uses in March 1994, giving them one year notice to return the land to HDB by 31st March 1995.
