Mr Speaker: Order. On 2nd June 1999, I informed hon. Members that at 8.45 am on the said date I received a letter from Mr Choo Wee Khiang resigning his seat in Parliament.

Therefore, in accordance with Articles 46(2)(c) and 2(4) of the Constitution of the Republic of Singapore, his seat in Parliament became vacant with effect from the aforementioned time.
