Mr Dennis Tan Lip Fong asked the Minister for National Development whether HDB or the Ministry of Health has (a) conducted any surveys, studies or reviews of demand for Community Care Apartments; (b) assessed the take-up and resident outcomes of Harmony Village @ Bukit Batok; and (c) whether and how any such findings informed the decision to lower the eligibility age for Community Care Apartments from 65 to 55.

Mr Chee Hong Tat: Community Care Apartments are a relatively new typology. We will continue to observe and study demand trends and resident outcomes. The decision to lower the age eligibility for Community Care Apartments from 65 to 55 years old was intended to provide seniors with more housing options and give them more time to plan ahead.
