Mr Alex Yeo asked the Minister for Sustainability and the Environment in view of the full implementation of the Beverage Container Return Scheme on 1 October 2026, whether the Ministry will consider requiring Return Right machines to be capable of processing refunds through more digital platforms other than DBS PayLah and SimplyGo, such as PayNow, to ensure wider accessibility of use.

Ms Grace Fu Hai Yien: The current set of payment methods was identified based on their general accessibility to all segments of the population and significantly lower transaction costs. The scheme operator, Beverage Container Return Scheme Ltd., is exploring additional cost-effective refund methods to enhance user convenience.
