Mr Patrick Tay Teck Guan asked the Minister for National Development (a) whether the eight commercial tenants at The Animal Lodge who were unsuccessful in their lease renewal bids can receive thorough feedback on their proposals; (b) whether the Animal and Veterinary Service (AVS) will consider extending the deadline for tenants to relocate; and (c) what plans are in place to support tenants to responsibly rehome animals impacted by the disruption.

Mr Chee Hong Tat: The eight tenants whose bids for tenancy renewal were unsuccessful are required to vacate their premises by 5 December 2026. National Parks Board has provided the tenants with feedback on their proposals and has also been engaging them on transition plans, including arrangements for the continued care, relocation or rehoming of their animals. Requests for short-term extensions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
