Mr Chua Kheng Wee Louis asked the Minister for National Development in the case of married couples or the fiancé and fiancée scheme (a) whether CPF Housing Grants that are made available are conditional upon buyers being listed as co-owners rather than one buyer being the sole owner and the other being listed only as an essential occupier; and (b) if not, what is the rationale for de-linking ownership from grant eligibility.

Mr Chee Hong Tat: The eligibility to purchase an Housing and Development Board flat or to receive Central Provident Board Housing Grants is assessed at the household level, regardless of whether both parties are listed as co-applicants, or one is an applicant and the other a core occupier.
