SINGAPORE POLYTECHNIC ORDINANCE, 1954 (Powers and functions of Board of Governors)

Mr William Tan asked the Minister for Education what regulations have been made under section 13 of the Singapore Polytechnic Ordinance, 1954, for the purpose of giving effect to the provisions of the Ordinance and particularly of defining the powers and functions of the Board of Governors.

Mr Chew Swee Kee: No regulations have yet been made under section 13 of the Ordinance, but a Committee has been appointed to prepare draft regulations for the consideration of the Governor in Council.

The powers and functions of the Board are already defined in section 5 (2), but may be modified under section 13 as the need arises.
