The Minister for Labour and Welfare (Mr Lim Yew Hock): Mr Speaker, Sir, may I have your consent and the assent of this House to move, under Standing Order 7 (11), that the proceedings of this day's business be exempted from Standing Order 7?
Mr Speaker: Hon. Members, of course, realise that that motion can only be moved after notice, but under Standing Order 23 notice can be dispensed with the consent of the Speaker and the general assent of the Members. Have I the general assent of the Members present?

Mr Lim Yew Hock: May I formally move,
That the proceedings of this day's business be exempted from Standing Order 7.
Question put, and agreed to.
Resolved,
That the proceedings of this day's business be exempted from Standing Order 7.
