Mr T. M. Hart: Mr Speaker, Sir, I have His Excellency's authority to move,
That this Assembly resolves that the sum of $156,555 should be supplied to the Government under the Heads of Expenditure and for the services specified in Sessional Paper No. Cmd. 6 of 1956.
Certain items in the Schedule, Sir, refer to services which were approved by the Assembly in November last year but were too late to be included in the annual Estimates for 1956. It is now necessary to obtain financial provision for these services this year. The services themselves were fully explained at the time they were approved and I will not waste hon. Members' time by embarking on further explanations.
The reasons underlying the other requests for funds are described briefly in the Schedule and I shall be happy to amplify these explanations if hon. Members so wish. Sir, I beg to move.
Mr Chew Swee Kee: I second the motion.
Question put, and agreed to.
Resolved,
That this Assembly resolves that the sum of $156,555 should be supplied to the Government under the Heads of Expenditure and for the services specified in Sessional Paper No. Cmd. 6 of 1956.
