I received a reply from Mr Speaker of the Federal Legislative Council dated 22nd August, 1957. It reads as follows: "Dear Mr Speaker,
Thank you for your letter . . . dated the 21st August, 1957.
I shall convey with pleasure the contents of your letter and the terms of the Resolution to the Federal Legislative Council at its meeting to be held on 3rd September, 1957. Yours sincerely, Raja Sir Uda, Speaker, Legislative Council.'
I might add that it was my fortune and the fortune of certain other Members of this Assembly to have been able to be present in the Federal Legislative Chamber on 3rd September, 1957, when the Message was conveyed to Members of the Federal Legislative Council by the Speaker, and it was a source of great pleasure to observe that the message was received with warm appreciation.
