The following Question stood in the name of Mr David Marshall -

Mr David Marshall: To ask the Prime Minister whether he will make a statement on the subject of the negotiations on the question of merger with the Federation of Malaya, and whether the Government will table a Report dealing with the said negotiations.

Mr David Marshall: Having received Cmd. Paper No. 33 of 1961 this morning, my question is answered.

Mr Speaker: That does not prevent the Prime Minister from answering it.

The Prime Minister: May I add that I shall be moving a motion in connection with this Paper when the contents can be debated.
