Mr Ong Chang Sam asked the Prime Minister when will Temporary Occupation Licences be issued to people living in Resettlement Areas 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 24 and 39.
The Prime Minister: Sir, most of the families in resettlement areas 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 24 and 39 have been issued with Temporary Occupation Licences. A few who have not yet taken up their T.O.L.s. as they are called, have been asked to do so as early as possible. In resettlement area 7, 38 T.O.L.s have been issued, 37 more have been offered, and the Land Office is waiting for them to be taken up. There are some 24 remaining cases where there are disputes amongst the licensees or prospective licensees regarding their boundaries. A resurvey is therefore necessary for the allotments to be made. As soon as it is completed. T.O.L.s will be given to the persons concerned.
