Dr Thio Chan Bee asked the Prime Minister whether water rationing in Singapore, in his estimation, is likely to go beyond March 7th, and whether he will suspend water rationing during the public holidays of Thaipusam, Chinese New Year and Han Raya Puasa.

The Prime Minister: Mr Speaker, Sir, in view of the opportunity that this question offers me, I will incorporate my ministerial statement in my reply to the Member for Tanglin. The brief reply to his question is -

Mr Speaker: Order. If it is to he a ministerial statement, the Prime Minister has to wait until after Question time. Do I understand there is to be a ministerial statement? If there is, then the Prime Minister can say that he will answer the question when he makes the ministerial statement.

The Prime Minister: As you will, Mr Speaker, Sir. I shall then wait my turn at the end of the questions.
