Mr David Marshall asked the Minister for Finance whether he has any information as to the amount of revenue collected by the Government in respect of the duty on lottery tickets sold to non-members of the Singapore turf Club.
Dr Goh Keng Swee: Sir, this information is not available as the sellers do not distinguish non-members from members.
Mr David Marshall (Anson): Would the Minister indicate what is the revenue collected on lottery tickets of the Singapore Turf Club and what, in his view, would be the proportion between those sold within the Turf Club and those outside?
Dr Goh Keng Swee: I cannot recollect the figures off-hand and I am not very familiar with Turf Club sales of lottery tickets. I require notice of the question.
