Mr David Marshall asked the Minister for Home Affairs how many persons have been banished under the Banishment Ordinance since 1st June, 1959, and the period of residence of each such person.

Mr Ong Pang Boon: Altogether nine persons were either expelled or banished from the State since 1st June, 1959. One of them was a returned banishee. The periods of residence in Singapore of each of the nine persons are :- 30 years, 25 years, 23 years, 15 years, 14 years, 12 years, 10 years, six months, and three months.
