INSTALLATION OF STREET LIGHTS IN ZION ROAD AND LOWER DELTA ROAD

Madam Chan Choy Siong asked the Minister for Law and National Development whether and when street lights will be installed in Zion Road and Lower Delta Road.

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for National Development (Mr Ho Cheng Choon) (for the Minister for Law and National Development): Mr Speaker, Sir:

(a) The portion of Zion Road from River Valley Road to Zion Close was provided with street lights after it was declared a public street. However, the remaining portion of Zion Road from Zion Close to Kim Seng Road is still a private road. Street lights will be installed when this portion of the road is made up under section 90 of the Local Government integration Ordinance.

(b) The portion of Lower Delta Road from Delta Circus to just before Bukit Ho Swee Junction has already been provided with street lights. Street lighting for the remaining portion of Lower Delta Road near Tiong Bahru will be installed in the next three months.
