TICKET BINS IN BUSES

Mr Ho Kah Leong asked the Minister f or Communications whether he is aware that bins for used tickets are not provided in some buses, and what steps he proposes to take in the matter.

Mr Yong Nyuk Lin: In October 1968, all bus companies were asked and have agreed to install bins for used tickets in their buses. Many of the buses already have such bins. There may be a few bus companies who have not installed them, in which case by March 1969, that is four months from now, when they do come for the half-year inspection and they still fail to provide litter bins, their buses will not be re-licensed.
