NON-CITIZEN STEVEDORES WITHOUT WORK PERMITS (Action against)

Mr Tan Cheng San asked the Minister for Labour whether he is aware that some stevedores working at the wharves do not hold work permits, and what action will be taken against them.

The Minister of State for Labour (Mr Sia Kah Hui) (for the Minister for Labour): Mr Speaker, Sir, until now there has been no report of non-citizen stevedores working here without work permits. The Ministry will take enforcement action against those non-citizens who are working here without a work permit.
