Mr Ng Kah Ting asked the Minister for National Development, in view of the fact that clearance of land at Punggol acquired for pig-farming development has been completed, whether any progress has been made in the implementation of Phase Ill of the project.
Mr Teh Cheang Wan: Mr Speaker, Sir, the land acquired for the development of Punggol Pig Farming Estate, Phase Ill, has not been cleared completely of squatters. However, an area within Phase Ill which has been cleared is ready for development to cater for the immediate needs of resettlement. Tenders for land preparation will be called in June, with development work expected to be completed by the end of 1979.
