BUKIT MERAH INTERCHANGE/ANG MO KIO INTERCHANGE (Introduction of direct bus service)

Mr Rohan bin Kamis asked the Acting Minister for Communications what is the progress of the study made earlier this year into the possibility of introducing a direct bus service between the Bukit Merah Interchange and the Ang Mo Kio Interchange for the convenience of residents of Telok Blangah and the surrounding estates and when this service can be expected.

Dr Yeo Ning Hong: I am glad to inform the Honourable Member for Telok Blangah that residents in Telok Blangah and the surrounding estates will get a direct bus service to Ang Mo Kio next month. SBS Service 132 which runs from Ang Mo Kio and loops at the Orchard Road area will be extended to the Bukit Merah Interchange.
