Mr Chew Heng Ching asked the Minister for National Development (a) when the proposed pedestrian overhead bridge across the Pan-Island Expressway near Block 524, Bedok North Street 3 will be ready; and (b) what will be its cost.

Mr Teh Cheang Wan: The pedestrian overhead bridge across the Pan Island Expressway near Block 524, Bedok North Street 3 is expected to be ready by May 1986. It is estimated to cost $180,000. Tenders for the construction of the bridge will be called on 1 November 1985.
