Dr Kanwaljit Soin asked the Minister for Health what were the average earnings per month of the top 10% of the medical specialists in the Singapore General Hospital before and after the implementation of the present points system.

Mr Yeo Cheow Tong: The average earning per month of the top 10% of the medical specialists in the Singapore General Hospital under the present points system which was implemented only on 1st May 1993 is $24,800, compared to an average of $26,200 prior to the introduction of the points system.
