VACANT HDB FLAT IN BLOCK 718, YISHUN STREET 71

Mr Cheo Chai Chen asked the Minister for National Development whether the Housing and Development Board flat at Block 718, Yishun St 71, #03-223 has been left vacant since 1986 and, if so, why.

Mr Lim Hng Kiang: The unit in Block 718 was offered for sale together with other flats in the same block when it was completed in 1985. Although it was made available for selection, none of the applicants chose this unit.

HDB has since offered the unit for rental. To-date it has not been taken up. Perhaps, people do not like to stay in that part of Yishun.
