ELECTRICITY AND WATER (Rural areas)

Mr Goh Tong Liang asked the Minister for Local Government, Lands and Housing whether he is aware that the Rural areas are very poorly supplied with electricity and water; and what steps does he propose to take to improve the supply of such services to these areas.

Inche Abdul Hamid Bin Haji Jumat: Government is aware of the need to extend the provision of piped water supply and electricity in the rural areas. The planning of this extension is already engaging the attention of Government and the existing Local Authorities.
