Mr Lim Choon Mong asked the Minister for Communications and Works whether he will take steps to ensure the safety of pedestrians at the 6th milestone, Yio Chu Kang Road, and to install a pedestrian crossing at that point.

Mr Francis Thomas: Yes, Sir. The matter is in hand. The traffic police have already investigated conditions at the points referred to. In their opinion, a pedestrian crossing is highly desirable. The matter has been referred to the Rural Board and, if they agree, the installation will be made.
