The House being met; and Mr Loke Weng Chee, Clerk of the Legislative Assembly, and Mr Abilio Lopez, Clerk Assistant, coming in procession and repairing to their seats; the Clerk informed Honourable Members that he had on the 31st day of October, 1964, at 9.15 a.m. received a letter under the hand of Mr Edmund William Barker resigning his office as Speaker of the Assembly.
