Mr Chow Chiok Hock asked the Minister for Social Affairs when will work on the Community Centre at 5 milestone Holland Road be started.

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Social Affairs (Mr Chan Chee Seng) (for the Minister for Social Affairs): Mr Speaker, Sir, I have been instructed by my Minister to answer.

A site has already been earmarked for the proposed community centre at Holland Village, and negotiations by the Commissioner of Lands with the owner for acquisition of the site have been in progress for some time. Plans for the construction of the community centre will be considered when the acquisition has been completed.
