ESTIMATES COMMITTEE AND PUBLIC ACCOUNTS COMMITTEE (Filling of Vacancies)

Mr Speaker: The hon. Member for Katong, Mr J. F. Conceicao, had asked that he be relieved from service as Chairman of the Estimates Committee and a member of the Public Accounts Committee, on his appointment as Singapore's Ambassador in Moscow, and I have agreed to his request.

I have to inform hon. Members that, in the place of the hon. Member for Katong, I have appointed the hon. Member for Ulu Pandan, Dr Chiang Hai Ding, to be Chairman of the Estimates Committee and a member of the Public Accounts Committee. I have also nominated the hon. Member for Bukit Merah, Mr Lim Chee Onn, to be a member of the Estimates Committee, to fill a consequential vacancy.
