Haji Sha'ari bin Tadin asked the Minister for National Development and Communications whether an overhead pedestrian crossing will be constructed across New Upper Changi Road opposite Apartment Block 27, Neighbourhood I of Bedok New Town.

The Senior Minister of State for National Development (Dr Tan Eng Liang) (for the Minister for National Development and Communications): Mr Speaker, Sir, there is no immediate plan to provide an overhead pedestrian bridge at New Upper Changi Road opposite Block 27, Bedok New Town. However, traffic lights will be installed at the junction of New Changi Road and Bedok South Road. This will create a traffic gap along New Upper Changi Road for safe crossing of pedestrians in-the area.
