Mr Ang Nam Piau asked the Minister for National Development and Communications if he will consider revising certain Green Belt Zones of the Master Plan for industrial use.
The Senior Minister of State for National Development (Dr Tan Eng Liang) (for the Minister for National Development and Communications): Mr Speaker, Sir, there is adequate land for future industrial use and it is unlikely that Green Belt Zones in the Master Plan will be considered for industrial use. Existing Green Belts will be retained to serve as "lungs" to relieve intensive urban developments.
