1988 PRE-PRIMARY AND PRIMARY 1 CLASSES (Utilization rate for 3-child priority)

Mrs Yu-Foo Yee Shoon asked the Minister for Education how many parents with three children have made use of the priority for a 3-child family for admission into the 1988 pre-primary and primary one classes.

Dr Tay Eng Soon (for the Minister for Education): Mr Speaker, Sir, the registration of children for admission to Pre-primary and Primary 1 classes in 1988 ended on 17th August, 1987. The Ministry is presently processing the registration forms and compiling statistics. When the data are available, I shall send them to the Member for Yuhua and to other Members of the House for information.
