DEVELOPMENT OF SERANGOON SOUTH (Completion date)

The following Question stood in the name of Mr Goh Choon Kang -

Mr Goh Choon Kang: To ask the Minister for National Development when is the targeted completion date for the development of Serangoon South Estate; how many blocks and units of flats will be built in the Estate and of what room types; and whether a jogging track is included in the development plan.

Dr Lee Boon Yang (for the Minister for National Development): Mr Speaker, Sir, Serangoon South Estate will be completed by September 1988. The Estate will have 27 blocks with 2,096 flats of the following types: 4-room : 1,376 5-room : 484 Executive : 236 Total : 2,096

The development of the estate involves four contracts. The first three contracts are scheduled for completion by May 1988 while the fourth contract is scheduled for completion in September 1988. A jogging track will be built in the estate.
