Mr Ling How Doong asked the Minister for Law what was (i) the total amount of fines collected by the Courts and (ii) the amount collected by the Government departments and statutory boards under his Ministry by way of composition offered, for the years 1990, 1991 and 1992 (up to June).

Prof. S. Jayakumar: (i) The amounts collected by the Courts for the years 1990, 1991 and 1992 (up to June) are $32,585,010.49, $32,541,050.51 and $15,422,780.86 respectively.

(ii) The total amount collected by departments under my Ministry by way of composition offered for the years 1990, 1991 and 1992 (up to June) are $10,000, $90,525 and $4,350 respectively.
