CERTIFICATE OF ENTITLEMENT (Extension of validity period)

Mr Teo Chong Tee asked the Minister for Communications, following the proposal to extend the life span of a taxi beyond seven years, whether he will also consider extending the validity of the Certificate of Entitlement (COE) for private cars from the present 10-year restriction to, say, fifteen years without having to pay for the prevailing quota premium on the expiry of the COE's 10-year validity.
