FOREIGN-OWNED RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES

Mr Low Thia Khiang asked the Minister for National Development, for each of the years from 1990 to 1995 and the first two quarters of 1996, how many foreigners bought residential properties in districts 9, 10 and 11 and what was the percentage of foreign ownership in these districts.

Mr Lim Hng Kiang: Detailed data on foreign ownership of private residential properties are not available as they were not fully captured in the past. URA is now working with IRAS to track and update the data on foreign ownership of private residential property stock. These will be released in URA's quarterly Stock & Occupancy Data starting in the second quarter of 1996.
