Order for Second Reading read.
The Financial Secretary (Mr T. M. Hart): Sir, I have to move, "That the Bill be now read a Second time."
Section 5 of the Singapore Telephone Board Ordinance provides that the Board shall consist of a Chairman, a Deputy Chairman, two other members (all appointed by the Governor in Council) and the Financial Secretary (ex-officio). It is now considered desirable that there should no longer be any ministerial representation on the Board, and that the number of members appointed by the Governor in Council should be increased to three. This Bill gives effect to this proposal. Sir, I beg to move.
Question put, and agreed to.
Bill accordingly read a Second time.
