Mr Lee Choon Eng asked the Minister for Local Government, Lands and Housing whether the Government has taken any action in regard to the acquisition of land proposed under the Master Plan; and when will the Report of the Inspector from the United Kingdom who heard objections to this Plan be presented to this House.

Inche Abdul Hamid: Sir, steps have been taken in appropriate cases to acquire land reserved in the Master Plan and required immediately for public development. It is not proposed to table the Report of the Inspector as it is a report to Government.

Mr Lee Choon Eng: Is the Hon. Minister aware that unauthorised buildings are being erected all over the island and that if no immediate action is taken, compensation will rise very, very high?

Inche Abdul Hamid: That is a different question Sir.
