BAN ON PUBLICATIONS FROM HONGKONG AND CHINA

Mr Lim Cher Kheng asked the Chief Secretary what progress has been made in the examination and exemption of the publications affected by the general ban on the publications of 53 publishers in Hongkong and China.

Mr David: Sir, satisfactory progress has been made and in response to applications so far received as at 2nd December exceptions had been authorised in respect of 450 books.
