The Deputy Prime Minister (Dr Toh Chin Chye): Mr Speaker, Sir, I beg to move,

That a Ministerial Statement be taken before Questions.

The reason is that Members of the House are aware that there are a number of questions on the Order Paper today which seek to enquire into the constitutional arrangements between Singapore and the Federation. It is therefore appropriate and cogent that the Prime Minister makes a report to this House on the progress of the talks which have been made so far.

Question put, and agreed to.

Resolved,
