PERSONS DETAINED UNDER P.P.S.O. SINCE 1-2-63 (Publication of White Paper)

Mr David Marshall asked the Minister for Home Affairs whether Government will publish a White Paper on the persons detained under the Preservation of Public Security Ordinance since the 1st February, 1963.

Mr Ong Pang Boon: Mr Speaker, Sir, the Internal Security Council had issued two statements which appeared in the newspapers on the 3rd and 4th February regarding the security operation. Any further information or memoranda or White Paper regarding the arrests will have to come from the Internal Security Council.

Mr David Marshall: Has this Government no point of view of its own in this matter, no information of its own that it can communicate to Members of this House?

Mr Ong Pang Boon: Mr Speaker, Sir, all that is necessary to communicate to Members of this House and the public can be found in the two statements issued by the I.S.C.
